Golden Churn Creamery Butter: Halal/Haram?

Aku baru tahu ada orang panggil butter ni 'Butter Cap Tong'. Puaslah aku pusing keliling kedai bahan buat kek, cari butter cap tong tapi tak jumpa. Rupanya 'cap tong' ni nama lain untuk Golden Churn ni! Cehhh.

Few months ago, aku memang ada dengar timbul isu mentega Golden Churn ni tak halal. Tup-tup minggu lepas, timbul balik isu yang sama. Apsal timbul isu yang sama banyak kali ni? Confuse aku. Jadi aku gugel lah untuk cari info pasal isu HALAL/HARAM Golden Churn butter ni dan terjumpalah beberapa maklumat.



Ini kenyataan daripada JAIJ. JAIJ kata Golden Churn tak halal sebab ada DNA babi. Lama dah surat ni dikeluarkan, cuba tengok tarikh surat tu; 18 Mei 2011.



Ini pulak kenyataan daripada JAIS (Sarawak) tentang isu yang sama bertarikh 28 Julai 2011.

KUCHING: The halal certification logo on the Golden Churn Creamery Butter product will be withdrawn now that it has been confirmed to be non-halal.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs) Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman said the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry would be asked to enforce the withdrawal of the logo.

“The confusion over the matter is now resolved with the decision made by the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) in a meeting on Tuesday that the butter is not halal.

“The decision is applicable throughout the country and Muslims are not allowed to consume the butter,” he told reporters after a zakat presentation ceremony at Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak here yesterday.

He said the confusion arose in the past because the manufacturer was unhappy that random checks conducted in Johor and Sarawak had revealed that the butter contained pig DNA.

“Another test was carried out subsequently and the result turned out to be negative. So, Jakim came out with a statement that the particular sample did not contain the pig DNA and it was not a public statement.

“However, we conducted another test in the state in June this year through the Chemistry Department and it was found that the sample analyzed contained the pig DNA. We cannot pick and choose the samples and the decision is that overall, it is banned for the Muslims,” he said.

On concerns that some kek lapis (layered cake) manufacturers were using the product, Daud said it was the responsibility of Jakim to inform the public that it was not halal.

“However, not all manufacturers are using the product as many are using other brands too,” he said.

So, selepas mengumpulkan semua maklumat AKU yakin Golden Churn Creamery Butter ni TIDAK HALAL. FYI, sepanjang aku baking, aku tak pernah guna Golden Churn Creamery Butter. Pilihan hati sentiasa Buttercup (walaupun bukan yang tersedap, tapi dah terbiasa). Pernah juga guna brand SCS. Alah, kalau guna butter hasil baking memang akan lebih sedap berbanding guna margerin. Baik biskut, muffin ataupun kek. Tak percaya, cubalah!

Tapi aku tahu Golden Churn ni memang akan buat kek jadi lebih lemak dan sedap. Sebab kek buah kukus emak YB yang paling tersedap aku pernah makan, memang guna butter ni. Mak ehhh makcik, lepas ni dah tak boleh guna butter ni lagi, ya?

Aku cakap kat YB, "Derr, butter chap tong tu tak halal tau sebab ada DNA babi. Bagitahu mak dah tak boleh guna". Korang tau dia jawab apa? "Ada babi? Ohhh ... patutlah sedap."

BOLEHHH??? Sabar jelah aku -__-"

tak pernah guna.
butter yang digunakan hanya buttercup, scs dan kadangkala anchor (itupun kalau buat butter cake)
